A shout-out to Hipline for their The Little Feminist Festival on 1/25! All proceeds went to funding for books for East Bay public preschools.

The Oakland LGBTQ Center now hosts one of only four bingo rooms in Oakland. Join them every first and third Saturday for Flamingo Bingo at 6pm! On February 22nd, Namaste Yoga and Wellness Center on Lakeshore is having a Neurogenic Yoga™ introductory workshop with Maria Alfaro. Neurogenic Yoga™ is an integrative method that combines yoga asana and pranayama with Neurogenic Tremors. These tremors are a natural response and the nervous system’s way of discharging long-held tension (from everyday stress and/or traumatic life experiences) to restore the body to wholeness. This workshop allows participants to experience Neurogenic Yoga™ and gives them a foundation for understanding the tremor response. Learn about the history and origin of Neurogenic Yoga™ and how it helps to release stress patterns and more. The price is $65.

Co-owner and Shakewell chef Jen Biesty had a wonderful weekend as a celebrated demonstrator at the Session VI’s Chef’s Holiday at Yosemite, giving the crowd a delicious taste of Oakland!
