Philz is coming
Philz Coffee will be coming to Lakeshore! They have started construction and will be opening this Summer 2024. You might already notice construction starting at 3347 Lakeshore Ave (where the Starbucks was for many years) Stay tuned for more details on the official opening dates.
3319 Marche opens for business
3319 Marche, a vintage clothing store, is unique in a way that items featured in this store are pieces that express creativity and are, for the most part, one of a kind. 3319 Marche is owned by a young pair of entrepreneurs, Tai Raino-Tsui and Marco Verdin who are both Oakland natives and passionate about Oakland. We are so excited to have them here on Lakeshore. Be sure to stop in and see what they’ve done with the inside of the building, they’ve created a very unique space in the old Izek salon. Marche describes itself as a “Contemporary Retail Experience” and offers personal styling appointments as well as tailoring services. Open Wednesday-Sunday at 3319 Lakeshore Ave.
Oakland Restaurant Week
March 24th wrapped up Oakland Restaurant Week where not one, but two Lakeshore Restaurants curated a special Spring menu for guests during the event. Shakewell offered signature cocktails to pair with a 4 course meal prepared by Chef Holly and Bardo served up a 3 course meal featuring chicken and grits. Hopefully you were able to stop by both amazing restaurants and fill up on their special offerings.

The Lakeshore Business Improvement District (LABID) held its annual Easter/Spring parade on March 30. The event started at 10 a.m. in the Lakeshore Baptist Church parking lot with an opportunity for kids to decorate hats, frost cupcakes, and embark on other art projects. At 11:15, the whole group paraded down and up Lakeshore Avenue, collecting candy and eggs at several shops. They returned to the church and prizes for winning hats were distributed.
“Our goal is to get families out on the Avenue and have them feel the community spirit and support our local businesses at the same time. We hope to build this event bigger each year,” says Carol Dru, from LABID.
