The Lakeshore Avenue BID has a long tradition of celebrating holidays in a big way, particularly Halloween, Christmas, and Easter.
Halloween Parade & Costume Contest
Come celebrate Halloween on Lakeshore Avenue with our annual parade! You’ll see hobgoblins, fairy princesses, and zombies, and that’s just counting the merchants poised in their doorways with trick-or-treat goodies. This event begins and ends in the courtyard flanking the Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church. There will be refreshments (including corn dogs fresh out of the fryer), face-painting, and lots of other fun activities.
Christmas Celebration
If you hear those sleigh bells jingling, we’re celebrating Christmas on Lakeshore with free horse-drawn carriage rides and complimentary face-painting!
Easter Parade & Derby Decorating Contest
2018 marked the 31st Annual Lakeshore Easter Parade & Derby Decorating Contest – as well as the 10th Annual Spring Children’s Festival, kindly hosted by the Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church. This is a free, non-denominational event that features complimentary corn dogs, face-painting, and egg dyeing. Everyone is welcome and every child receives a prize!
